Our festivals are organized events with scheduled performers, workshops, dances, round robins (singalongs), skits, canoeing, etc. Activities take place at many sites around the campground. Performers and attendees eat, talk, and spend time next to each other, giving the Festival its intimate feel.

Folk Project Spring 2009 Festival: April 17-19, 2009

A Note from the Festival Chair

The Testival—the test run of our new festival site—was a smashing success. Over 100 of you joined us at Star Lake Camp in Bloomingdale, New Jersey. You were generous with your feedback and the Festival Committee is busily digesting all of your suggestions so that we can make the Spring '09 Festival the best one yet. We are also hard at work booking the Festival and will be announcing a roster of performers shortly.

For the Spring Festival, we will return to providing a mix of performers—a combination of headliners from the folk music world and our own Folk Project members. We are also returning to our 3-day format.

Our caterer for Spring will be Richard Schrack of Moonlight Catering. Richard is a veteran of the folk community. He currently caters the Philadelphia Folksong Society's Fall Fling and for many years catered their Spring Thing as well. I am looking forward to enjoying Richard's culinary offerings.

Please note that the date for this Festival is a departure from our custom of having the Spring Festival on Mother's Day weekend. We have heard from many of you over the years that conflicting with Mother's Day made it difficult for you to attend. We hope moving the date to April will make it easier for many of you.

I will announce the performers for Spring just as soon as booking is complete. In the meantime, if you'd like to help out with the planning or have any suggestions, drop me a line at .
